Together with you, iDE’s mission is to create opportunities for people living in poverty to earn more income. We focus on people living in poor, rural households in Africa, Asia and Central America.
People like Salima, a mother and shop owner in rural Zambia.
She used to lay awake at night, worrying about how she would pay rent on her small farm supply store. Business was slow. She was at risk of losing her store, and her ability to provide for her kids.
Then something changed.
Through the support of generous people like you, Salima received training from iDE. She learned how to grow her business, access better products for her customers, and build stronger connections with local farmers.
Today, Salima’s store is thriving. In fact, she now supports thousands of farmers in her community. She’s even opened two additional shops and hired women from her neighborhood — paying forward the opportunity she once received.
But Salima’s story isn’t unique. There are thousands of people like her — aspiring entrepreneurs who just need the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
