Introducing a new partnership with Global Vision 2020

She didn’t want to see the flowers. Not at first anyways.
When a young mother finally received her first pair of prescription glasses — just moments after arriving at a pop-up eye clinic — there was only one thing she cared about:
“I want to see my baby. And my husband.”
Up until that moment, her world had been a blur. But now, for the first time, her baby’s face came into focus. She cried tears of joy. Everyone watching was in tears too.
And her husband?
She laughed. “He’s even better looking than I imagined!”
That moment was made possible with a simple $20 pair of glasses. Twenty dollars to clearly see the people you love most. Twenty dollars to feel safe, capable, independent — for the first time in years. Or ever.
This year, we began working with Global Vision 2020, an incredible group helping bring vision care and prescription glasses to people who would otherwise go without.
Together, we’re training local entrepreneurs to test eyesight, assemble glasses, and help people see clearly — some for the first time in their lives.

This project will bring glasses further into hard to reach communities, and will mean they are always available — because anyone who wears glasses knows, accidents happen, and glasses get broken and lost. This also provides an opportunity for someone to earn income by providing the product and service.
Vision tests are done using the USee Vision Tester, a big, funny looking pair of glasses with a vertical lens bar on each eye. All you do is put them on, look at an eye chart, then turn the dials until the bar moves to a place where you can see clearly. Indicators on the lens bar match lenses provided in a kit. The right lenses are then snapped into pre-made frames and the glasses are ready to go!
