12 Brand New, Innovative Ideas That Could Change the World
When Hamidatu, a Customer Sales Agent with iDE Ghana heard that she’d received one of five $15,000 (USD) Fail Fast grants, she couldn’t stop dancing and weeping with joy.
“I’m so excited about this! I can’t wait to bring it to the world!”
She noticed that people in Ghana were having a really hard time affording materials to build latrines — an important solution to hygiene issues in the country. So, she came up with an idea.
By partnering with local recyclers, she could turn recycled plastic into affordable, comfortable, durable, and easy-to clean toilet facilities.
“When I got the email, I felt on top of the world — more determined and confident. I would be excited if I can get connected to other country offices who are into recycled plastics to share more ideas to help end poverty!”
When Najeeb, a Farm Manager for iDE Ghana heard he’d been awarded a Fail Fast grant, he was overwhelmed: “I heard an inner voice saying, ‘This is the moment you’ve been waiting for — the moment of change and impact for female farmers!”
He’d like to create an innovative way to harvest and store rainwater so female farmers can cultivate more fields.
The smiles on Hamidatu and Najeeb’s faces? They’re there because of generous people like you. Thank you for helping fund this round of life-changing ideas!
